Why I made this game
Recipes love to say “1 tbsp soy sauce” or “a serving of spaghetti,” but let's be honest: most of us just eyeball it. A glug of soy sauce straight from the bottle, a fistful of pasta that somehow feeds six, a “splash” of milk that turns into half a cup. There's even a running joke online that you should measure garlic with your heart. I thought it would be fun to put that “yeah, that looks about right” instinct to the test as a game.
The controls are as simple as it gets: it pours only while you hold the button, and letting go is final. That means you can play a round with one hand on your phone in about a minute. Results come out as a percentage, so you can compare your Today's 5 score with family and friends, and maybe pick up a few kitchen benchmarks along the way, like what 150 g of rice actually looks like in a bowl.
About the game's content
The container sizes and the guides for each amount in the game (including the quarter used as a size guide for pasta) are simplified to make the game easy to play. Real dishes and ingredients may hold different amounts. When you need an exact amount, use measuring spoons or a kitchen scale.
