Eyeball It is a game where you measure out the amount you're asked for by sight alone, with no scale and no measuring spoons. This page explains the controls, the items, the scoring rules, and some tips for getting closer.
Getting started
On the title screen, pick “Today's 5” or “Practice” to start. No account or install needed. The game makes sounds, so check your volume.
- Today's 5: the items are set by the date. Everyone who plays on the same day gets the same items, in the same order, with the same amounts (the date comes from your device's clock)
- Practice: the order of the items and the amounts change every time you play
Basic controls
- The item and the amount appear at the top of the screen (for example, “Soy sauce 1 tbsp (15 ml)”)
- You pour, grab, or scoop only while you hold down the orange button at the bottom of the screen
- When you lift your finger, that item is over. You can't add more (one shot per item)
- You'll see the actual amount, the target, how far off you were, and your points. Tap the screen to go to the next item
- After all 5 items, you get your total score and a rank title
On a computer, hold the space bar to pour. When the result appears, press the space bar again to go to the next item.
The 5 items
Each game gives you the following 5 items once each, in a shuffled order. The amount is picked from the options below.
| Item | Action | Possible amounts | Container / guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soy sauce | Pour | 1 tsp (5 ml), 1/2 tbsp (7.5 ml), 1 tbsp (15 ml) | Tablespoon (overflows at 18 ml) |
| Dry spaghetti | Grab | 70 g, 80 g, 100 g, 120 g, 150 g | A quarter on the cutting board |
| Cooked rice | Scoop | 100 g, 150 g, 200 g, 250 g | Rice bowl (overflows at 300 g) |
| Milk | Pour | 120 ml, 150 ml, 200 ml, 250 ml | 300 ml glass |
| Water in the pot | Run the tap | 500 ml, 800 ml, 1 L, 1.5 L | 2 L pot |
Amounts in the game are metric. On screen, spaghetti also shows ounces and milk and water show cups or quarts as a rough guide.
Scoring
Each item is worth 100 points, for 500 points max over 5 items. Your miss (how far you are from the target) is calculated as a percentage, and you lose 3 points for every 1% off.
Points = 100 − miss (%) × 3 (rounded to the nearest whole number, never below 0)
Example: if the target is 150 g of rice and you scoop 165 g, you're +10.0% off, which gives you 70 points. Miss by about 33% or more and you get 0. Too much and too little lose points the same way.
If the container overflows, that item scores 0 points no matter what.

Sharing your result
On the result screen, you can post your 5 grades as a row of emoji (for example, 🎯🟢🟡🟠🔴) along with your total score and rank on X, or copy them. The emoji alone show how close you got on each item, so in Today's 5 you can compare results with everyone who played the same items.
How the game works
- It speeds up: while you hold the button, the pour gets faster bit by bit. The longer you hold, the more it rushes out at the end
- The speed is different every time: for each item, the pour speed is randomly set within about ±30%. There's no magic number of seconds, so judge by the amount in the container and the sound
- Liquids drip: soy sauce, milk, and water keep dripping a little after you let go. Pasta and rice don't
- Listen for the sound: with liquids, the pitch rises as the container fills up
Tips
- With liquids, let go a little before you reach the target. Allowing for the drip is the fastest way to improve
- For pasta, a bundle as thick as the quarter is about 100 g in the game. For 70 g go a little thinner, and for 150 g go noticeably thicker
- A regular bowl of rice is 150 g. Heap it up above the rim and you've got a big bowl
- A full tablespoon of soy sauce is 15 ml, and 1 tsp (5 ml) is a third of that
- For milk, think about how far up the glass (300 ml) to fill. For water, think about how full the pot (2 L) should be
- The pour starts slow for a split second, then speeds up. The smaller the amount, the earlier you should let go
Saving
Your results and scores aren't saved. If you close or reload the page, you go back to the title screen. You can play Today's 5 as many times as you like.
Using this in real cooking
The container sizes in the game and guides like “a bundle as thick as a quarter = about 100 g” are simplified to make the game easy to play. In real cooking, amounts vary with your dishes and the thickness of your pasta. When you need an exact amount, use measuring spoons or a kitchen scale.
